My first year of teaching flew by. Wow! God is good, right? My first year of marriage / being a college graduate, I'll admit - I was disappointed. I loved being married and loved the store I was working in, but I was disappointed that I wasn't doing the thing I felt like I was made to do. That I wasn't putting to use my degree that took four years of blood, sweat, and tears to earn.
But - God is good! Jobs that presented themselves involved long commutes, iffy environments, and very little job security. When I got the part time job at BCS, it was a prayer answered beyond anything I could have imagined.
You see, I got to spend a wonderful first year with my husband, being able to focus on how to be married while still bringing in some income from the store.
I got the job at BCS early enough (April) to be able to plan as thoroughly as possible (which, as it turns out, is not very thoroughly).
By being part time, I was able to ease into a career that is often overwhelming and stressful for a lot of first year teachers. Although I was constantly busy, my minimal grading load allowed me to take
I adore the school I work at. While not without its flaws, I've never been in a school environment more uplifting and supportive. I had a great first group of students too - I can guarantee that when they walk across that stage and get their diplomas I will be boo hooing with the best of 'em.
And now, as per usual, a selection of pictures and caption to give you a tour of my past few months. I'm not sure what direction this blog is going to take in the next few months, but the uncertainty is full of possibility :)
